The issue of determining the legal status of new religions
Authors
Dr. Nguyễn Thị Tố Uyên
Abstract
New religions, also known as New Religious
Movements (NRMs), have emerged and developed strongly in the 20th and early 21st
centuries. These religions often carry doctrines and practices different from
traditional religions, and their legal status in society is often
controversial. This paper analyzes the factors affecting the determination of
the legal status of new religions, including the legal framework, freedom of
religion, and social recognition. It also highlights the factors to be
considered in examining and determining the legal status of new religions in
Vietnam.
