Role of non-governmental organizations in rural development
Authors

Abstract
India is a land of villages, and the Indian
government has implemented a number of rural development programmes to help
rural communities prosper. Non-governmental organizations have formed a variety
of roles that can affect rural development, thanks to their non-rigid, locale
specific, perceived need-based, beneficiary driven and devoted character of
service. In addition to government efforts, a number of non-governmental
organizations (NGOs) have played a significant role in the development of rural
communities. Recognizing that the government would be unable to meet the
enormous problems of rural development on its own, non-profit, volunteer, and
NGOs were necessary to participate in various phases and activities at the
global, regional, and local levels. This research emphasizes the relevance of
NGOs in India's rural development. It is a case study of a number of
non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in India and other countries in
the domains of health, hygiene, and sanitation. The report focuses on women's
performance evaluation Participation, skill development, education,
entrepreneurship, tourism, and other activities all have a role. This article
also examines the process of dealing with the government and the general
public, as well as the implementation of non-governmental organization
activities and a variety of other issues.
